Students compete in local and advanced track and field events

Congratulations to all the junior and senior high track athletes from Neilburg Composite School (NCS). They all advanced from Lashburn to districts in Meadow Lake. At Meadow Lake, Bailey Tyler placed first overall in the bantam girls' division.

Cards and bingo enjoyed

Catch the 10 whist was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre May 21. High score went to Jean Stewart and low to Bev Stewart. Lunch and hosting by Jean Hartman. Bingo was played May 23 with a good turnout.

Museum gears up for summer season

The Maidstone Museum's annual meeting followed by the monthly meeting was held on May 21 in the Maidstone Seniors' Centre.

Students set out on canoe adventure

Sounds like people are taking advantage of the good weather. The exodus from the village to lake country on the weekend was noticeable as was the return Sunday evening. Students of Maidstone Grade 11 class left June 3 for their annual canoe trip.

Tough love had me on the scale Monday

I ran into some Lisa style tough love last week when I chickened out of my Monday weigh in. And the scale Thursday proved her point, as I was up a pound over the previous week. So, I not only ran 4.

The Saskatchewan Seniors Association Incorporated held their annual Region A meeting at Livelong on May 15. SSAI president Len Fallows from Prince Albert was in attendance and was guest speaker.
