Students set out on canoe adventure

Sounds like people are taking advantage of the good weather. The exodus from the village to lake country on the weekend was noticeable as was the return Sunday evening. Students of Maidstone Grade 11 class left June 3 for their annual canoe trip.

Students of Maidstone Grade 11 class left June 3 for their annual canoe trip. Among the travelers were Waseca's Chase James. The group will canoe on the Churchill River and among their stops will be Stanley Mission.

Sherron Campbell, June bride-elect was honoured Sunday afternoon with a bridal shower. Sherron, with her bridesmaids and special guests, was seated at the neatly appointed table and the many friends an neighbours presented her with a wise variety of practical and unusual gifts. The time was spent opening and admiring the gifts and sharing a dainty lunch. Sherron graciously thanked all for the gifts and good wishes. She and her husband will be living in Lloydminster.

A village wide garage sale will be held in Waseca June 23 beginning at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in taking part should phone Arlee Lumgair at 893-4231 or Sandra Sutherland at 893-2211 to have their name and address put on posters. Tables will also be available at the community centre for rural folks to use.
