Your galleries are filled with activities this weekend. The labyrinths behind the Chapel Gallery are being renewed. Volunteers are welcome to come help with this process June 1 in the afternoon.

In my articles over the last few years I have often mentioned some of the volunteer work that has been done and is being done here in the community.

Scott Woods show enjoyed

Tillie Linkert, Jean Stewart and Ann Reeds enjoyed the Scot Woods show in Lashburn. The music and the tap dancing were terrific. Dorothy Kissick accompanied me to Unity Tuesday where I had an eye appointment.

Term winding down

The school year is slowly winding down, and we have many events in the upcoming weeks. Last week we sent our Maidstone High School track and field team to divisions in Lashburn.

Europe-bound

Early in the morning April 6, 17 students and two teachers from North Battleford Comprehensive High School were bound for Europe. We left Saskatoon and spent 10 days exploring Italy, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic.

North Battleford library hosts festival of local films

The North Battleford library hosted its 11th annual Flick Fest May 13. Public screenings were held, giving everyone an opportunity to come out and vote for their favourite film.

Belated birthday greetings to Gertie James, now of Lloydminster, who celebrated a special birthday Saturday evening, May 26. Family members gathered for a barbecue and festivities to celebrate the day.

It's blossom time

It's blossom time here! Saskatoon, chokecherry, pincherry and other wild shrubs are in bloom. Those who have apple, crabapple and other fruit trees in their yards will be enjoying the blossoms. Let's hope we remain frost free.

Interactive tour highlights social justice issues

St. Vital Catholic School is hosting a special student-created drama production called, Cool to Care Tour, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30. Viewings will begin about every 15 minutes between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. The last 'tour' will begin at 7:30 p.m.
