The North Battleford library hosted its 11th annual Flick Fest May 13.
Public screenings were held, giving everyone an opportunity to come out and vote for their favourite film. Earlier, a panel of judges previewed the films and rated them based on a number of criteria including originality, artistic merit and editing techniques.
The winner of this year's competition was Sam Burns who won the Panel's Choice Award and the People's Choice Award for his film, Snoop. A special Merit Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Youth Category was presented to Luke Keller, Blaise Sieben and James Sieben for their film, Dimensions.
Flick Fest, held in partnership with the Chapel Gallery and the Battlefords Allied Arts Council, is open to individuals of all ages living within the Lakeland Library region. All types of genre may be submitted, with a maximum film length of 15 minutes. For further information about the festival, please contact the library.
