Senior boys' volleyball qualify for provincials

Congratulations to the Borden senior boys' volleyball team who played in regionals Nov. 17 in Perdue with six teams competing in two pools. The boys beat out Pierceland and Loon Lake in two sets, then in the semifinal beat Glaslyn in two sets.

Recreation board distributes funds to clubs

The recreation board for the RM of Glenside held a meeting Nov. 5 at the home of Lexie Dehr of Lizard Lake. Board members from the three districts within the RM attended.

Comp In Action supports WDM

Through the money raised by their haunted house, North Battleford's Comprehensive High School's Comp In Action presented a donation of $468.20 to the Western Development Museum. The Comp In Action is an extra-curricular club at NBCHS.

Bus trip enjoyed

On Saturday, Nov. 10, a number of Waseca and area residents took advantage of Garon Coach Lines series of pre-Christmas trips to Edmonton. Arlee Lumgair, Sandra Sutherland, Bev Hult and Shirley James boarded the coach at Waseca.

Staff and students paid their respects to the soldiers who participated and continue to participate in military action throughout the world, Nov. 8. This year the flag bearers who escorted Legion members into the gym were Donald and Morgan Miriam.

Centennial mural created

Several members of the Battlefords Art Club used their artistic abilities to paint on the large mural the club is creating for the City of North Battleford's 100th anniversary celebrations in 2013.
