Think packing up and moving is stressful? Imagine moving the entire building - brick walls, chimney, furniture, the whole lot - in one piece! Sound tough? Well it's nothing compared with the daunting challenges faced by the extreme engineers of Massive Moves.

Watch this dramatic series, to see how Dave Fouhy's house was moved off his farm in the Spinny Hill area Sept. 6. It made its way across the North Saskatchewan River south of Maymont and continued on to its final destination north of Highway 40 in the Speers area. A film crew from London, England taped the move and it will be seen on Massive Moves this winter on HGTV. Be sure to check your TV guide to see this event.

They follow the adventures of huge movers across land as they transport monstrous structures that were never meant to leave their foundations. From a colossal cathedral to a humongous homestead and even an entire town, nothing is off limits.

Maymont seniors' potluck and jam session Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. Come and enjoy supper and great music.

I know it's maybe too early for some of you to think about New Year's Eve but, if you have no plans, remember Maymont Seniors' Centre potluck lunch and jam session. Donations welcome. Doors open at 7:30. We will even have party hats.

Shop for Christmas at the trade show Nov. 24. Doors open at 11 a.m. Admission is $3. Lunch can be purchased, with all proceeds going to the library.

Maymont Prairie Pups Playschool is currently looking for a playschool teacher to take over starting in January 2013 until approximately May. We are looking for an energetic, fun loving person to provide a structure in which a play-oriented environment encourages each child to attain greater independence, acquire social skills and self-confidence. Early childhood education and development training are desirable but not necessary. The position is for Tuesday mornings from 9:30 am to noon. Mrs. Kulpa had called me with regards to an article that was written in the Nov. 9 paper. She wanted me to correct the spelling of her daughter's name. I had spelled it as Leah but it was supposed to be Lexie.
