An author with Battlefords connections will be in the community to launch her latest book next week. Elinor Florence will be in Battleford at the Saskatchewan launch of her novel Bird's Eye View at Fred Light Museum Friday, Oct. 31 from 1 to 3 p.m.

With harvest done, quilters reconvene

After missing a couple of quilting days due to harvest, our quilters met again Oct. 17. We will probably meet again on a regular basis again now that harvesting is completed.

The Borden and & district volunteer fire department held a hotdog fundraiser Oct. 17 in the Borden Fire Hall. For $3 you got a hotdog, chips, pop or coffee and sweets, and an extra hotdog for $1.

Most people associate dirt and worms with a garden, but last week it was the food offered for sale by the SLC.

Provincial president attends meeting

The monthly St. Walburg Royal Purple meeting was held Oct. 13. The hall looked very welcoming with Thanksgiving decorations to brighten things up. Thanks, Terry. There were many compliments. Eighteen members signed the roll call book.

Fine fall weather letting farmers complete jobs in the fields
