The monthly St. Walburg Royal Purple meeting was held Oct. 13. The hall looked very welcoming with Thanksgiving decorations to brighten things up. Thanks, Terry. There were many compliments.
Eighteen members signed the roll call book. HRL Judy Helperl opened the meeting by wishing all a happy Thanksgiving, and we welcomed provincial president Audrey Griffith with the official Royal Purple salute.
The secretary read minutes of the September meeting, as well as communications. Anyone desiring to attend functions that the Royal Purple were invited to can get in contact with the secretary.
The finance committee met to audit books, which they found in order. Catering dates were announced. The kitchen committee reported new shelving and all other necessary material to do improvements in that area are ordered; as well someone to do the work has been arranged.
Sunshine committee reported they had taken a fruit basket to Helen Harris. We wish all members who are ailing, and/or recovering the best of health
It was agreed to set up a table at the December craft sale at the hall to inform the public what Royal Purple entails and what our organization is all about.
The lunch committee provided a wonderful lunch after the meeting was adjourned.
The annual Elks/Royal Purple corn roast was held Sept. 10; only this year it was done in the hall rather than outdoors, as Mother Nature decided to turn the temperature down drastically that day.
District deputy Dorothea Hocher made her official visit to North Battleford Lodge Sept. 16. Also taking the travelling gavel that day were Jean Steinacher, Yvonne Beeching and Inge Knopf. Mary Kyba also joined for part of the Royal Purple meeting.
