Senses were brought to life from the smells, tastes and textures of the menu items from a gourmet supper fundraiser held at Blaine Lake Gospel Chapel Aug. 25. Eighteen guests purchased tickets in support of the church's fundraising efforts.

Harvest had a little setback last week with substantial rain Friday and Saturday. However, optimism is abounding that this will only be a temporary delay and full swing harvest operations will now be nearly uninterrupted for this season.

Even though we have had several heavy rain showers during the past week, swathing is going ahead in some places. Harvesting is not general as yet. The calendar does not say that we have entered the "fall" season but nature tells us differently.

Volunteers needed and appreciated

As you can tell for the last little while we have traveled to many places and enjoyed many outings. This weekend we were in Hafford at their Summer Sizzler. There was a buzz around the town and all the volunteers were busy.
