Are you still digesting your turkey and pumpkin pie from Thanksgiving celebrations? I am still thinking, although Thanksgiving weekend got a little cooler, we are still enjoying above average temperatures and sunnier skies.

Affinity Credit Union hosted a free seniors' information seminar Oct. 3 in the Borden Seniors' Room, with guest speakers Sharon Schermann, Randy Touey and Beth McNally. Sharon spoke on the planning part she provides through the credit union.

As the cold October winds blow and the autumn leaves fall from the trees, it is fitting that the Window Gallery at the Chapel Gallery exhibits Liza Gareau Tosh's most recent series of paintings, Nature Morte (Dead Nature).

Neilburg Composite School held a "muffin morning" the first day of classes, Sept. 4. There are no new teachers or assistants this year, however both Mrs. Perkins and Mrs. Windsor have returned from their respective maternity leaves.

Congratulations to Brian Ducharme and Leonard Voegeli who join Joeleen Milman and Carol Deagnon as village councillors. Denise Bernier will again be mayor.

A new 4-H club is being formed and anyone interested in joining is invited to an informal informational meeting Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Hafford Seniors' Centre on Main Street.

This past week has been fairly busy around the community with the rodeo and the Terry Fox run along with a community appreciation barbecue at the school.

Delta Co-op hosted Saskatchewan Roughriders at their store Monday thanks to a Coca Cola Canada promotion. Tearrius George and Brent Hawkins drew a continuous flow of fans who kept the cooks busy at the tailgate party hosted by the Co-op.

There can just not be enough good words to say about this fall weather. After a milder than normal winter and a cool, wet spring, we braced for the worst.
