Crowns play the YRHS

The Harlem Crowns basketball team performed to a good sized crowd at the Yorkton Regional High School last Wednesday. The Crowns are on a cross-country tour and the YRHS gym was on their list of stops.

The Yorkton Terriers play their last home game of the season tonight against the LaRonge Icewolves. Game time is 7:30 p.m., at the Farrell Agencies Arena. They close out the season on Saturday when they play in Notre Dame.

The Yorkton Elementary School Sports Association held their city wide badminton tournament last Tuesday afternoon at the Gloria Hayden Community Centre.

Atom team wins top spot

The Yorkton Atom AA Xerox Terriers 2011-12 Hockey Tournament took place over the weekend and they came out on top. Playing on their home ice at Yorkton Kinsmen Arena Sunday, they won every game they played.

16U Blitz off to a good start

Yorkton Blitz 16U girls volleyball team competed in the SVA SASK Cup 1 tournament on Jan. 28-29 in Saskatoon.

Crowns coming to the YRHS

The Harlem Crowns basketball team is coming to the Yorkton Regional High School today (Feb. 8) for a 7 p.m., show time in the school gymnasium. Tickets are on sale for $10 and are good for three games. At 4 p.m.

A pair of home ice wins have kept the Yorkton Terriers in control of second place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Sherwood Conference. The Terriers have 61 points based on a record of 28-19-2-3, trailing first place Weyburn with 72 points.

There were a lot of soccer games and a lot of futsal played over the weekend at the Gloria Hayden Community Centre for the 1st Annual Yorkton Indoor soccer tournament for U8, 10, 12, 14 and men's teams.

The boys' curling team from the Yorkton Regional High School played Preeceville over the weekend in a game they needed to win in order to play for a gold medal.

Josh Moreira of the Yorkton Regional High School was among the participants at the Yorkton Martial Arts Training Centre's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar and challenge held over the weekend.
