The Yorkton Atom AA Xerox Terriers 2011-12 Hockey Tournament took place over the weekend and they came out on top.

Playing on their home ice at Yorkton Kinsmen Arena Sunday, they won every game they played. That included a 5-1 win over the Prairie Storm Thunder hockey team.

A 2-0 lead early in that final game proved to be enough for Yorkton to win their own tournament as Zachary McIntyre and Ethan Evanovich scored what turned out to be the winning goals.
Evanovich scored again in the third while Jackson Berezowski and Evan Krasowski rounded out the Terrier scoring. The Thunder could only get one back when Bryce Cockwill found the back of the Yorkton net at 17:40 of the third period.

Yorkton's weekend began late at night two nights earlier when they hosted the AA Estevan Bruins.

Five third-period goals helped secure a 7-5 victory. Colby Vranai scored twice for Yorkton while Mason Strutt tallied twice for the visiting Bruins.

Next up for Yorkton was an 11:15 a.m., game with the Warman Panthers. McIntyre had five goals in a 7-2 win. Evanovich had one and Ryder Korczak scored once.

Ryan Conlon and Max Kotyk scored for the Panthers.
