Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) senior boys basketball action continued into the new year for SHHS as they headed to Estevan recently for an eight-team tournament (Jan. 13-14).

The Yorkton Terriers are coming off a 4-3 loss in Weyburn on Sunday evening. The loss has Yorkton in second place. The Weyburn win gives them a comfortable lead on Yorkton for first place in the Sherwood Conference.

Bantam team ties

The Yorkton UCT Terriers bantam hockey team hosted the Battlefords Barons Saturday at the Farrell Agencies Arena. Yorkton jumped out to a 2-1 lead after one period of play on goals by Branden Pelechaty and Rylan Jasper.
