Bantam team ties

The Yorkton UCT Terriers bantam hockey team hosted the Battlefords Barons Saturday at the Farrell Agencies Arena. Yorkton jumped out to a 2-1 lead after one period of play on goals by Branden Pelechaty and Rylan Jasper.


The Yorkton UCT Terriers bantam hockey team hosted the Battlefords Barons Saturday at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

Yorkton jumped out to a 2-1 lead after one period of play on goals by Branden Pelechaty and Rylan Jasper. Grayson Neufeld and Tanner Mak drew assists.

Brandon Lesko scored the lone goal of the first period for the Battlefords.

Yorkton would add two more goals in the second period; Pelechaty tallied his second while Caleb Sutter added his first. Colton Iron got one back for the Battlefords as the teams headed into the third period with the Terriers holding onto a 4-2 lead.

A quick strike by the Barons at 17:50 of the third brought the visitors to within a goal and Layne Young tallied at 9:05 to ensure his team a tie.

Yorkton is scheduled for a Thursday night game this week when they host the Notre Dame Hounds at the Farrell Agencies Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m.
