On behalf of the board of directors and the entire organization, I would like to thank the City of Yorkton, and especially the wonderful folks at Yorkton Minor Football for hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
As the first stop on this year's Rider-Prider Hockey Challenge (Jan. 21), presented by SaskCanola, we are pleased to assist your community in its fundraising efforts.
The autograph session and hockey game are just one small way for our Club to give back to a community that has already strongly supported the Riders through the years.
Yorkton is a key market for us and we thank all the Rider fans who journey to Mosaic Stadium throughout the football season.
As for the hockey game, we wouldn't have been able to resurrect the team-and exchange cleats for skates-without the tremendous support we receive from the Saskatchewan Canola Development Commission.
Not only are they a terrific regular season sponsor of the Riders, but they were also a perfect fit for this off-season endeavour, which is proving to be quite successful for all involved.
Thank you to the organizing committee here in Yorkton.
We are confident that the event will be the best yet.
And we thank you fans for attending and cheering us on-even if some of the guys really should be off the ice!
