Local self-guided tour a great success

The members of 12-40 and Beyond, An Adventure in Rural Life, held another successful tour weekend July 23 and 24. A potluck and wind-up supper was held at Buck and Sandy Lafond's home on the shores of Emerald Lake.

Farmers' markets to be held in Waseca

For the first time farmers' markets will be held in Waseca. For this year, two have been planned: August 13 and 27. The markets will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Waseca Community Centre.

Rain slowing down haying operations

More rain over the weekend will slow down haying operations which are already late. Other outdoor activities such as gardening are made more difficult with heavy rains. You will soon be seeing birds getting ready to go south for the winter.
