Will he or won't he? I am longing for Mr. Groundhog to predict an early spring. This darn winter started way too early and I am ready for thoughts of spring.

Life seems to get busier and time seems to fly by. Christmas is behind us and we are creeping up on Valentine's Day. The one thing that doesn't seem to want to fly by is winter.

Bus depot concerns being looked into

Winter really set in this week with the thermometer registering - 27 C. An icy wind blowing from the northwest made the weather very cold. Snow was blowing across the road Monday and making drifts in the yard. More work for the shovel.

Ice ready to go at local rink

The Waseca skating, natural ice-skating, rink has been in use for some time. We hope the mild weather didn't affect the ice. Sig and Ada Schimelfenig are enjoying their winter in Arizona.

Bingo supports Edam Handi Van

A Handi Van bingo was held Jan. 11 with Bonnie Letwinetz acting as caller. This month the winners of the regular bingo games received chickens. Thanks to Dora Greening for donating the prizes for the youngsters who attended.

Wakefield Memorial Shuffleboard champs crowned

The Lyla Wakefield Memorial Shuffleboard tournament was held at the Neilburg Seniors' Center Jan. 15. Rose Leitheiser and LaVonne Rutherford teamed up to win the event and they will have their names engraved on the trophy that hangs in the center.
