Club hosts spring show June 5-7

The Battlefords Photo Club met on April 1 for their monthly meeting. The meeting started out with some fun, with the club photographing their "environment." which will be the challenge for May.

Meota Hobby Band to perform at library

This Wednesday afternoon, the Meota Hobby Band will be in performance at the North Battleford Library. Everyone is welcome to attend. The performance starts at 2 p.m. and refreshments will follow the program.

NBCHS renos go to tender process

When the opening day of school arrives in 2015, Grade 7 students will be attending North Battleford Comprehensive High School. Before that can happen, there will need to be renovations made and a new gymnasium created.

On a snowy spring day, Tuesday, the Battlefords Art Club had a good turnout of painters. We discussed the spring show and sale that opens May 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. and continues Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year's diocesan Catholic Women's League convention was held in Prince Albert at St. Micheal's Parish. Guest speaker for the morning session was Danica Lorer, who is a professional storyteller, photographer and a freelance writer.

Residents attend Maidstone quilt show

Several people attended the quilt show in Maidstone on the weekend. The show was both Saturday and Sunday. It is always amazing to see the fine work the quilters do.

Cadets look to parents for example of commitment

If you've seen the booths at the Co-op mall, you'll know the local squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets is raising funds with a raffle. If you didn't get your ticket, there is still time, as they have dates booked to set up again.
