This year's diocesan Catholic Women's League convention was held in Prince Albert at St. Micheal's Parish.
Guest speaker for the morning session was Danica Lorer, who is a professional storyteller, photographer and a freelance writer. She grew up in Prince Albert and now lives in Langham with her husband and children. She talked to us about opening our eyes and the gift of the story. We don't all have the gift of telling a story but we have the gift of listening.
Mass was celebrated in the parish with Father Maurice Fiolleau leading.
Marianne Kramchansky was presented with the Maple Leaf Service Pin, in recognition for her outstanding service to the league.
The provincial convention will be held in North Battleford with the St. Joseph's parish hosting. The dates are June 2 and 3.
In the afternoon we had a chance to listen to Kwaku Kyei. He is the manager of KIK Cyber Tech Security in Prince Albert. He is also a certified fraud examiner. He holds two master degrees in computer forensic and cyber crime investigation from the University of Dublin, Ireland. Cyber bullying is a form of bullying with devices such as phones and computers by an individual or a group. The difference is that the perpetrator is not seen using the Internet as a shield.
The convention ended in prayer of thanksgiving for the time shared.
