( see photo gallery below ) The Sturgis Mini-Miracle continued its tradition of helping others on March 2 when the Kinsmen and Kinettes hosted their 37th annual Mini-Miracle.

The Preeceville Trinity United Church celebrated Shrove Tuesday on February 28 with a pancake supper. The men of the church prepared, cooked and served the pancake supper that featured pancakes, sausages, ham, refreshments and jellied desserts.

A Rama resident has won $1 million in the Lotto 6/49 lottery.

The Sturgis Kinsmen 24th annual marathon that was a combined effort of the Sturgis Composite High School students, staff and Kinsmen members, braved the cold as they walked and ran back to Sturgis from Canora on March 2.

There were 16 teams participating in the regional cribbage category from the Parkland Valley District in the Saskatchewan Senior Fitness 55 Plus games. The cribbage games were hosted by the Sturgis READ Club on February 25.

Seventeen rinks were entered in the Preeceville open bonspiel, which was held from February 26 to March 4. “This was our last bonspiel of the season," said Sheldon Luciw.

Owners of local pharmacies have said they felt a downward spin on February 15 when the Sunrise Health Region announced proposed changes to where some homecare patients were to get their medications.

The Family Resource Centre, which encourages families and their small children to spend time together in a fun interactive manner, sponsored its second community play date at the Sturgis Elementary School on February 26.
