Seven players from the Yorkton Terriers junior A hockey team graduated from the team at the end of the 2016-2017 season. As of now, four of those players have made commitments to play at the university level.

Bankhead Sports Academy made its second annual appearance in Yorkton last weekend. The football camps, led by head instructor John Bankhead, took place over a three-day span.

Field lacrosse season is underway in the Parkland, and this year the Yorkton Lacrosse Association (YLA) is seeing its highest numbers yet. Adam Stewart, the YLA president, said there are about 150 kids enrolled in field lacrosse this year.

Five young local hockey players recently had the opportunity to play with the AAA Sask. Knights spring hockey team which won gold in the Alberta Champions Cup held in Calgary on April 28 to 30.
