Seven players from the Yorkton Terriers junior A hockey team graduated from the team at the end of the 2016-2017 season.

As of now, four of those players have made commitments to play at the university level.

Former captain Corwin Stevely from Regina is staying close to home as he has signed on to play with the University of Regina Rams hockey team for next season. The forward started his Yorkton hockey career during his midget AAA days. From there he moved on to play three full seasons with the Terriers. He played a total of 177 (155 regular season, 22 playoff) games with the Terriers. He racked up a grand total of 96 points.

While Stevely decided to stick close to home, two other forwards decided to head east.

Dakota Odgers has committed to the Carleton University Ravens men鈥檚 hockey team in Ottawa.

鈥淚 chose Carleton right from the start of the recruiting process,鈥 Odgers told Carleton University. 鈥淭hey were honest with me and I was lucky enough to go out there and see the school and get to know everyone. Everything felt right.鈥

Odgers started playing in Yorkton in bantam. He went back and forth between Yorkton teams and WHL teams during his junior career. He played a total of 24 games with the Terriers this past season, and racked up 25 points.

The third Terrier graduate to commit to a university team is Jordan Ross. The forward recently committed to the University of Toronto Institute of Technology Ridgebacks men鈥檚 hockey team.

The Kronau, SK. native spent a lot of time with the Yorkton Terriers. Ross played a total of 40 games. He scored 30 goals and racked up 85 points. He also spent time in the WHL with the Prince George Cougars during his junior career.

It鈥檚 not surprising that these three talented players have been selected for these strong teams. Stevely, Odgers and Ross were all around for the Terriers鈥 2013-2014 season, when the team won the league championship and the national championship.

Graduate d-man Regan Seiferling committed to Rochester Institute of Technology鈥檚 hockey team early in the season.

Seiferling spent three complete seasons for a total of 160 games with the Terriers. The Moose Jaw native racked up 89 points during his career in Yorkton.

The remaining three graduates - goalie Nathan Hargrave, and defensemen Kevin Wolf and Reid Anderson, are still working out the details as to what the next year will hold for them.
