YORKTON - After a loss in Kindersley Friday the Yorkton Terriers were looking for pay back as the teams met again Saturday, still in the Klipper’s barn.
Carter Briltz started things for Yorkton with an unassisted marker at 7:40, but the Klippers equalled that with a powerplay effort from Cam Perlinger at 14:37.
The second period saw the teams offences running hot.
Yorkton pulled ahead with three goals in the opening 10-minutes of the period. The goals were a mixed bag as Dustin Renas scored even strength, Thomas Ries scored on the powerplay and Vinay Junek added a short-handed effort.
Then the Klippers kicked in with Zakery Anderson scoring even strength and then netting a second one on the powerplay leaving the Terriers up 4-3 through 40-minutes of action.
In the third Rylan Wheeler netted a powerplay effort to tie things 4-4.
The game winner eventually came from the stick of Terrier Tyler Palin who scored the unassisted winner at 18:10 for a 5-4 Yorkton win.
Then with the game in the books, the two teams turned angry with the teams splitting six fighting major penalties, and assorted 10-minute and game misconducts involving 11 players and a bench minor and game misconduct to the Terrier coach.
Meanwhile Ethan Farrow was in the Terrier net facing 49-shots in the win.
The Klippers split goaltending duties with Cody Jaman allowing four goals on 18-shots, and Brett O’Halloran one on 10-shots.
The next action for the Terriers sees them go on the road for a home game, hosting Estevan at the Cote First Nation Arena Friday, then head to LaRonge for a game Saturday.
