Paynton and Maidstone volunteer fire departments have been kept busy this winter. Between highway incidents and structural fires there has been a mess of calls to keep the volunteers hopping day and night.

Dec. 8 found the Christmas activities of the area begin with the Minnehaha annual Christmas Concert. This year marked the 100th concert held in the former Minnehaha School that is now known as Minnehaha Co-op Hall.

Borden School Kindergarten to Grade 6 held their annual Christmas Concert Dec. 20 in the Borden Community Centre. The hall was full to watch the little ones sing and present a play.

This month Sakewew High School decided we would do a spirit week. We had Hat Day, Whacky Hair Day, Opposite Day, and Pyjama Day.Many students participated and some of the teachers as well.
