A local group is bringing the Vagina Monologues to the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts Saturday, with all proceeds going to support Battleford Interval House and the Battlefords and Area Sexual Assault Centre.

Coffee house performances draw a crowd

John Paul II Collegiate staff and students hosted a coffee house Jan. 25. The library hosted about 50 guests and 13 acts provided entertainment. The acts varied from vocal performances to instrumentals, improv and poetry readings.

Poor Man's Supper hosted at United Church

The Neilburg United Church held their annual Poor Man's Supper Jan. 24 in the church lower hall. A large crowd attended, enjoying a fabulous supper of home made soups and breads, jams and jellies.

Initiation tourney draws five teams

Leipzig Serenity Retreat held another wonderful supper and concert a few weeks ago. This time, Tilly and the Billygoats entertained the crowd, with approximately 40 guests in attendance.

Speckle Park pioneer passes away

Monday morning the temperature was - 5 C. For the last while the temperature has been up and down. Last Monday it was very cold with the temperature down to - 32 C, remaining cold during the early part of last week.
