The 82nd Battlefords Kiwanis Music Festival season comes to a close with the celebratory gala and awards ceremony at 7:00 p.m. Friday in Logie Hall at Third Avenue United Church.

John (Jack) Boyd: An entrepreneur and citizen without peer

Jack Boyd was born to George and Minnie Boyd on Sept. 27, 1903 in a log and sod cabin in the district of Lovell (later to be named Cee Pee), N.W.T. His family moved to Radisson in 1905, and then to North Battleford in 1913.

George Boyd was born on March 10, 1871 in Clark Township in the county of Durham, Ontario. In 1902, he and his brother Andrew came west to see for themselves a new and developing country. They liked what they saw.

Club members delve into the abstract

The Battlefords Photo Club met March 5. Fifteen members were present for the indoor meeting. The group critiqued photos from the February photo of the month challenge, which was relationships/love/romance.
