Cards was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre May 27 with Dorothy Schwartz earning the high score and low went to Denise Newton. Dorothy also supplied lunch. I was away at a convention for several days the previous week, thus no news was sent.

David William Shury was born on Sept. 2, 1930 to William James and Florence Mildred Shury at Wilkie. He took Grades 1 through 5 at Drummond Creek School and Grades 6 through 12 at McLurg School in Wilkie.

Grade seven students from North Battleford competed in a unique new learning exercise Wednesday - boat racing. These weren't your average boats, you wouldn't find an outboard motor on one and you certainly wouldn't want to take it out on the lake.
