Fairs have been annual events in the Battlefords since the Town of Battleford held their first fair in October 1887. It had originally been planned for Oct. 8,1885, but was never held because of the Riel uprising.

109th Canada Day picnic held in Ruddell

Ruddell held their 109th annual picnic July 1. Old-time games were enjoyed along with ice cream and lemonade. The crowd sang O Canada and then proceeded to a potluck supper which was enjoyed by all. Everyone knows how I feel about potluck suppers.

Hi there, I don't think we feel very sorry to the last of June. Most of the month was cloudy, cool and rainy. However our sympathy and heartfelt feelings go out to the people in Alberta who are suffering through such terrible flooding.
