Herb Troesch was born May 20, 1914 in a log home on SE 6-49-20. The Troesch family continue to farm that same land today. Herb was the second child and eldest son of Jake and Mary Ann Troesch of Edam and younger brother to Lena.

The high school track meet was held May 25 and 26 in North Battleford. The weather co-operated so all the events were able to be completed. The school sent a full team of athletes from students in Grades 7 to 12.
