The Christmas season kicked off for seniors in the area with a Christmas party at the Preeceville Club 60 on November 23. Seniors enjoyed the turkey dinner catered and hosted by the Trinity United Church.

The Preeceville liquor store now has a new location and name under the management of Garth Harris. The new store, known as Thirsty Dogz Liquor, opened for business on November 21. The new downtown location is 17 Main Street in Preeceville.

Sturgis senior boys off to provincial volleyball championship

The Sturgis Composite School senior boys volleyball team exceeded its dreams when the team won second place at regional play in Tisdale on November 17 and 18. Sturgis will advance to provincials that will be held in Humboldt on November 24 and 25.

Poker tournament held in Preeceville

A Texas-Hold-em tournament was held at the Preeceville Curling rink on November 18. It attracted 26 players from across the local and surrounding areas of Preeceville, Sturgis, Canora, Kamsack, Lintlaw and Okla, said Tim Olson, organizer.

Musher Rendezvous to celebrate 20 years

The Preeceville and District Musher Rendezvous committee held an organization meeting on November 14 with discussion surrounding various topics. The organization will be celebrating 20 years this season.
