      The Preeceville Skating Arena was a busy centre as hockey teams took their turns in action on Minor Hockey Day celebrated on January 27.
           The youngest team, the IPs, was the first team on the ice taking on Norquay.The IP players from both teams each received mini sticks donated by Preeceville Formo Motors.
           The novice hockey team was defeated by the Federowich Terriers. The final score was 24-5. Trae Petereon scored all five goals, unassisted.
           The atoms team defeated the Kamsack Flyers with a 11-7 win. Scoring for Preeceville were Cole Secundiak (four goals), Riley Kuta (three goals), Alex Neilson, Bracyn Konkel, Trae Peterson and Mason Babiuk.
           Assists were by Cole Secundiak, Parker Ryczak, Avyn Seerey and Mason Babiuk.
           The Preeceville peewee team followed with playing the first of two provincial series games against Strasbourg. The final score was 5-4 for Preeceville. The second game will be in Strasbourg on February 11. Kaiden Masley scored all five goals, unassisted.
           The midgets concluded the day with a 4-2 loss against the Melville Chiefs. Scoring for Preeceville were Cody Hort and Dylan Wiwcharuk. Sean Paligan made the only assist.
           There was a children's 50/50 draw with tickets purchased for a dollar and drawn for at the end of the second period for each game.
"The winning ticket holder had the opportunity to shoot three pucks from the blue line at a specific target on the hockey net. If the participant succeeded, he or she would win half of the 50/50 proceeds," said Candace Kuta.
           Jace Vogel won the opportunity to shoot and hit his target for the novice game. Camryn Nelson won the money for the atom game. Jada Kunz had the opportunity to shoot in the peewee game but missed the target and won a candy bag. Camryn Nelson won the opportunity to shoot in the midget game but missed and received a candy bag.
           Bennett Halyard was the grand prize winner of the loonie stick.
           Derrick Wiwcharuk won a speaker and Mason Babiuk won the hockey chair made out of hockey sticks.
