Because of one Togo family鈥檚 dedication to the sport of curling, and their ability to attract a 鈥渟lough of volunteers,鈥� ice was made, 14 teams signed up and a mixed bonspiel was held at Togo.

The Preeceville Peewee White hockey team has kept its provincial run and playoff hopes alive with important wins. Provincial games are based on the best of two games and total points from both games. Regular playoff games are the best of three games.

There is always a lot of buzz at this time of year, at least if you are a National Hockey League fan. While I am not sure there is the fanaticism surrounding the sport that there was when I was younger, I am back engaged with hockey.

Team Parkland Valley won a total of 15 medals at the Saskatchewan Winter Games in North Battleford. That medal total includes 5 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze. The gold medals were split between figure skating and weightlifting.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League winds its regular season to a close over the next week.

The Yorkton Senior Curling Social was held at the Gallagher Center this past week. There were 16 rinks in attendance, 10 local and 6 from out of town.

The Yorkton Kinsmen Terriers have eliminated the Lumsden/Bethune Lions in the opening round of the 麻豆传媒AV Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League鈥檚 AA Midget Division playoffs. The series got under way last Tuesday with Yorkton hosting the Lions.

The Yorkton RawTec Maulers find themselves at one game apiece with Regina in their best-of-five series. Game one of the Saskatchewan AAA Midget League series was played Saturday in Regina.

The junior boys and junior girls curling teams at Kamsack Comprehensive Institute returned home with bronze medals from the district competitions on February 9 and 10.
