Preeceville pee wee hockey team keeps provincial and league playoff drive alive

The Preeceville Peewee White hockey team has kept its provincial run and playoff hopes alive with important wins. Provincial games are based on the best of two games and total points from both games. Regular playoff games are the best of three games.

     The Preeceville Peewee White hockey team has kept its provincial run and playoff hopes alive with important wins.

     Provincial games are based on the best of two games and total points from both games. Regular playoff games are the best of three games.

     Preeceville played Strasbourg in the first round of provincial play. The first game of that provincial series was held in Preeceville on January 27 with a 5-4 Preeceville win. Kaiden Masley scored all five goals, unassisted.

     The second game was held in Strasbourg on February 11 with a 4-1 final score in favour of Preeceville. Scoring for Preeceville were: Kaiden Masley (2 goals), Zander Purdy and Archer Franklin. Assists were by Kaiden Masley, Chaz Jaeb and Bryker Smith.

     Preeceville won the series and advanced to play Watrous for the provincial title.

The first game against Watrous was held in Preeceville on February 25. The score was unavailable for reporting at the time of publication. The second game of provincials is scheduled for March 4 in Watrous.

     In the league playoff, Preeceville played Whitewood in Whitewood on February 7. The final score was 4-3 and netted a loss for Preeceville. Scoring for Preeceville was Kaiden Masley (two goals) and Chaz Jaeb. Jace Vogel made the only assist.

     The second game of the playoff was held in Preeceville on February 24. The final score was 6-5 in overtime for Preeceville. Scoring for Preeceville were: Chaz Jaeb (three goals), Carson Ebert, Kaiden Masley and Jace Vogel. Assist were by Brody Shankowsky, Carson Ebert and Kaiden Masley.

     The third game was to be held back in Preeceville on February 28. The score will be reported in next week’s issue.
