Beavers look to alumni for vacant assistant coach position

The Weyburn Beavers have announced the signing of Gord Gateman as assistant coach for the 2011 season. Primarily, he will assume the role of pitching coach alongside of three-year Head Coach Terry Smith.

This past Saturday the 6 & under Cougars were at the Carnduff tournament where they won both their games. Colby Kyle achieved his first ever goal, and Drayden Arndt did a great job in net. It was the first tournament for many of the youngsters.

The Crescent Point Energy Wings travelled to Regina for a league game on December 5, where the Regina Sharks hosted, and after having a few days off, the team was well rested and ready to play.

The Bantam Cougars travelled to Radville Nov.25 and Weyburn Nov.27. The team played well both these games. Lots of passing and teamwork led the Cougars to victory in both these games. 4-3 vs.Radville and 11-0 vs Weyburn Co-op.

Pee Wee Cougars win B side in Estevan tournament

The Pee Wee Cougars were "tournamenting" again last weekend. They finished second in their pool and ended up winning the B Side Final in a one day tournament in Estevan. In the first game, against Estevan Sanjel, the Cougars came out strong.

Members of the Vilcu's Karate Club competed in the Fifth Annual open martial arts Young Tigers Challenge in Melville on Nov. 27. The competition was open to participants of all ages, levels and styles of martial arts.
