The Assiniboia and District Public Library started up its children鈥檚 summer reading programs. The TD Summer Reading Club Summer Fun Time at the Library began on July 6 and it runs Thursdays until August 24. The program facilitator is Amanda Franks.

The Assiniboia and District Library has a full slate of activities planned for the summer. The TD summer reading program will be running on Thursday afternoons from July 6 to August 24. The time is yet to be confirmed.

The Assiniboia Livestock Auction held its regular cull cow and bull sale on June 21 with 587 head sold. Heiferettes sold between $1.20 per lb. to $1.45 per lb., dipping slightly from the previous sale. D1 and D2 cows held steady to sell between $1.

The Wood Mountain Wagon Train will take place once again this year from Monday to Friday, July 3-7.

Paterson Grain donated $67,866.75 to the Assiniboia Arena Project, a project of the Assiniboia Civic Improvement Association. The proceeds come from grain and hay sold off the company land adjacent to the terminal.

Assiniboia鈥檚 Centre Street is looking markedly brighter thanks to two budding teen artists Christine Ughayon from Assiniboia and Najette Chouchane of the U.K. They are completing a window art project on the front of the Telestar building.

The 121 Steakhouse owned by Tim Dlouhy unveiled its 121 Liquor Store in Assiniboia on June 23 that will now be retailing alcoholic beverages along with convenience items.

Limerick Canada 150 celebrations take place in Limerick on July 1 starting at 2 p.m. with a beer garden, music, and entertainment at the sports grounds. Activities for children with bouncy castles and face painting start at 3 p.m.
