Happy New Year from Round Hill Riders 4-H Club. January was a month of curling playoffs. Round Hill Riders senior team and Mount Hope junior team advanced to regionals that were held in Aberdeen.

They laughed, they cried. Sunday evening, three friends and musical associates brought Broadway to Third Avenue United Church in North Battleford.

Improvements made to Drop In Centre

Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre Jan. 26 with Margaret MacEachern and Jean Hartman calling. Lunch was provided by Denise Newton. The loonie pot was won and shared by Dorothy Kissick and Denise Newton. Games of choice were played Jan.

Snappy new twist to a classic tale

Talent and tunes took an old tale and served it with it a twist. Division II students at Ratushniak Elementary School presented The Rockin' Tale of Snow White by Barbara Lennon and Bill Francoeur Feb. 9 and 10.

Tea held for departing resident

Milt and Lil McMillan entertained their niece Bernadette Bevington of Lloydminster and her mother Mary Lundell. They enjoyed a visit and a good game of cards. We're sorry to say Marilyn Smith is still in hospital.

Partial proceeds from a concert at Maymont Memorial Hall March 18, featuring Gary Fjellgaard with Saskia and Darrel, will benefit Glenburn Regional Park. The concert, slated to begin at 7 p.m.

At this time we are also thinking of Earl and Shirley Jones who are "vacationing" in Egypt. I am sure they will have lots to share when they get home. We are wishing them safety as they deal with frustrations.

Curling dominates the sports card

2010 was such a big year in Unity with so many big events such as Top 5 Riderville run, Western Canadian Fastball Championships and Provincial 4A Girls' volleyball host, to name a few. Unity loves to host events and 2011 will be no different.
