The past week's weather featured a very high wind, not much snow and cloudy skies. Temperatures have been below zero for the most part.

Hi there! It's hard to believe that it's December now and nearly Christmas time again. We can certainly tell that in our lounge as we see a beautifully decorated tree in the corner and the rest of the room with other lovely Christmas decorations.

Students host seniors' supper

Catch the 10s was played at Maidstone Drop In Centre Nov. 21. The turnout was better than usual. Lil McMillan and Margaret MacEachern won the prizes drawn for. Jean Stewart and Hettie Richardson provided lunch.

As I mentioned once before, the area along the lake to the north of the present Sparrow subdivision is going to be undergoing some development to get it ready for a new subdivision.

Mailboxes stolen, vandalized

Vandalism to mailboxes in the Bjelde Creek and Beljennie areas has occurred. Why would anyone go out and steal mail boxes and knock others over? There seems to be a lot of unknown vehicles in the area.

The Unity Composite High School Journalism 20 class, taught by Mrs. Ruth Cey, had the exciting privilege of using their skills to cover the 4A Boys' Provincial Volleyball Championships hosted in Wilkie last weekend.

Senior boys earn provincial silver

Congratulations to the Borden senior boys' volleyball team who won silver at the provincial 1A playoffs Nov. 26 in Broadview. The boys played very well, defeating Kincaid, Vanguard and Bellevue St. Isodore in round robin play, only losing to Manor.

Battle of the Blades entertains large crowd

Five dollars - it can get you some junk food or a tavern beverage, but the feeling from that wouldn't last nearly as long or be nearly as much fun as attending Unity's own Battle of the Blades. This show had definite wow factor.

NCS students win prizes for stellar fundraising efforts

The elementary students at Neilburg Composite School did a wonderful job selling coupon books this year. They sold a total of 193 books. This is the most the school has ever sold.
54-year-old club has 13 members

54-year-old club has 13 members

Maidstone Gully 4-H Club kicked off its 54th year of learning to do by doing Oct. 3. The club has 14 members in five projects: Beef, Light Horse, Exploring 4-H, Clovebuds and Outdoorsman.
