Harold Zander was born December 1, 1919, the middle child in a family of seven children born to Dan and Maria Zander, nee Fichtner. His mother passed away in July, 1944 and his Dad in October, 1965.

Frances Zazula (nee Harrick), 5 th of 10 children, was born on the farm in the Plainview District to Joseph and Polly Harrick on March 27, 1928. She worked in Melville, Yorkton and Winnipeg. While travelling to Hamilton, Ontario, she met John Zazula.
