Rose Frances Milotte (nee Dobko) of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully on May 20, 2013 at the age of 95 at the Moose Jaw Extendicare. Rose was the youngest of eight children. She was born on April 28, 1918 in the Jedburgh District to Mike and Mary Dobko (nee Makowetski). She grew up in the Jedburgh District and attended Forest Nook School. Rose was predeceased by two husbands; Sam Zasko (1951) and Edward Milotte (1973); daughter Muriel Fowlie (2003); grandson Kirby Lovelace (1979); four brothers John, Steve, William and Nick; and three sisters Anne Lukany, Mary Dobko and Katherine Sarada. Rose lived a long and active life. Even if times were tough, she always persevered and had a sense of humour. She was very ambitious and was able to make a living in various ways. While living in Yorkton she took in boarders. After moving to Moose Jaw she owned and operated a small confectionary store, worked as a clerk in the Army and Navy Department Store for eight years, and took in girls who attended S.T.I. Since she was an excellent seamstress, she would take orders to make drapes for customers as well as making and selling perogies. She loved gardening and took pride in her yard at 821 Stadacona St. W. which she decorated with lawns and flowers as well as growing vegetables in her backyard. She spent the last twenty-two years of her life at Timothy Eaton Gardens. Rose loved living there and took part in the activities available while she was able. When her health deteriorated she moved to Extendicare Nursing Home. Rose leaves to mourn her loss her daughters: Violet (Atley) Lovelace -Regina; her son-in-law Hart Abercrombie (Linda) - Calgary; four granddaughters: Karen - Regina and Arizona, Kerri-Sue (John) Rajczakowski - Regina, Lesley (Clayton)Thomas - Calgary, Suzanne Schauermann - Calgary; six great-grandchildren Jordon Abercrombie and Alyssa Thomas both of Calgary, Bradley and Tyler Schauermann both of Calgary, Tanner and Brynn Rajczakowski - Regina; sister-in-law Dora Blakyi - Yorkton; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday May 25, 2013 at 2:00PM. Reverend David Moore will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to CNIB, 2550 Broad Street, Regina, SK S4P 9Z9. In living memory of Rose, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
