A Norquay rink won the A event of the Canora Men鈥檚 Bonspiel played March 8 to 12 among 16 rinks. Ken Newell of Norquay curled with Zach Newell, third; Evan Rostoski, second, and Kevin Ebert, lead, won the A event.

This year the Canora Skating Club鈥檚 achievement day was themed 鈥淗appy Birthday Canada,鈥� and was dedicated to Canada鈥檚 150 birthday, according to Shyla Yannoulis, club president.

Yorkton鈥檚 Nick Fetsch was awarded the Grassroots Player of the Year 2016 by Sask Soccer. Fetsch received his award on Saturday, Mar. 18 at a banquet in Swift Current.

The Yorkton United Football Club hosted its annual banquet and awards ceremony on Saturday, Mar. 11 at the Gallagher Centre. There were approximately 230 guests, including soccer players, family members, coaches and more.
