If there鈥檚 any colour that stands out at the Farrell Agencies Arena on a hockey night, it鈥檚 orange. But on Saturday night, pink overpowered the orange as the Yorkton RawTec Maulers hosted their third annual Paint the Rink Pink fundraiser game.

Hawks win with distant lead on the clock

This weekend, the Yorkton RawTec Maulers midget AAA team will suit up in pink for their annual Paint the Rink Pink breast cancer fundraiser.

The Yorkton RawTec Maulers had another weekend of hockey games on the road. Playing against the Beardy鈥檚 Blackhawks on Saturday, and the Saskatoon Blazers on Sunday, the Maulers came away with three of four possible points.

The Yorkton Terriers were on the losing side of their two games against the Humboldt Broncos last weekend. The action started in Humboldt on Friday night. It was the tougher of the two matches for the Terriers, who lost 10-2.

The two-month junior girls volleyball season ended for the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute team on October 25 at the conference competition in Sturgis. The KCI Spartans was one of five teams entered in Sturgis.

The Yorkton Regional High School Raiders football team was just one play short of the provincial championship last weekend. The Raiders faced the North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings football team for the 3A provincial title.

The Preeceville Pats Midget hockey team took to the ice in its first home game of the regular season with a 5-4 win over Yorkton Remax midgets on November 1. Preeceville struck first early in the first period to take a 1-0 lead.

The Canora Cougars senior girls volleyball team celebrated on its home court after winning the final match in the Canora Composite School (CCS) tournament held on October 27-28.

The Yorkton Regional High School boys volleyball team hosted its senior volleyball tournament last weekend. The YRHS team finished with a 2-2 record in the round robin. In the quarterfinal, they beat Rouleau 2-0, which pushed them into the semifinal.
