Outlook Ice Hawks Tame Bruins at Home

Hawks win with distant lead on the clock

The Outlook Ice Hawks seemed to make up for the 5-4 loss suffered against the Kyle Elks at their season home opener earlier this month, hitting the ice at the Jim Kook Rec Plex on Friday, November 17 when they hosted the Delisle Bruins.

The team played very fluid and displayed some great offense in a hockey game that saw a number of skirmishes between the rosters, including one near-brawl that sent players to the penalty box where they continued to chirp at one another, and saw Hawks player Steven Lee come off the ice with some teeth damage.

Despite the somewhat chaotic element to this particular game, Outlook kept their eyes on the prize and in the first period, they managed to gain a substantial lead over the Bruins on the scoreboard.  By the time the buzzer sounded, the Hawks were ahead at a score of 4-1.

Outlook maintained control on the ice and warded off any attempt at a comeback by Delisle in the second period, keeping the same score on the clock when the buzzer sounded.

The third period saw aggression come out of both teams as the desire to win got the better of some players at times.  Still, the Ice Hawks managed to sink another goal into the net, as did the Bruins.  Seeing how Outlook maintained a three-goal lead, it was all but over for Delisle as the time ran out in this game.

The Hawks left their home ice victorious at a score of 5-2.

Goals scored by Delisle were made by #18 Chad Laing and #12 Jase Smalcel.  Goals scored by Outlook were made by #8 Adam Zbitniff (2), #9 Blake Taylor, #11 Jordy Jones, and #10 Drue Allison.

The next home game for the Ice Hawks is set for this Saturday night at 8:00 when the team plays host to the Eston Ramblers.
