It was a busy scene at the curling rink in the Gallagher Center on Mar. 24. Rocks slid towards their targets, passing their stone-faced brethren heading in the opposite direction. Brooms slapped and swept the ice with rhythmic efficiency.

The Yorkton Kinsmen AA Midget season has come to an end. The Terriers had topped the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League’s AA Midget Division, and manoeuvred through the playoffs to the league final against the Regina Rangers.

With the success of the Wheelchair Curling Funspiel in Kamsack March 9 and 10, plans are to have another similar event next year.

The Preeceville bantams hockey team faced off against the Moosomin Rangers at the Preeceville Skating Arena on March 18 for the first game of the best-of-three series being played between Preeceville and Moosomin for the A-banner on March 18.

The Canora Cougars senior boys and girls basketball teams each captured first place in conference playoff tournaments held on March 10.
