The Yorkton DQ Grill and Chill Pee Wee A Terriers have their backs against the rink boards as they head to Warman for game two of their two-game provincial finals series.

The Terriers hosted game one of the series Sunday, with the visitors getting the upper hand early.

Warman led 2-0 after 20-minutes, then 4-0 through two periods of play.

In the third period the Terriers marked goals by Madix Vitkauskas and Jack Puckett, but Warman added two of their own for a 6-2 lead going into game two Saturday.

Yorkton coach Jason Gordon said the Terriers have a hole to climb out of, but the team is confident they can come back.

鈥淲e鈥檝e got a group that鈥檚 strong, that still believes,鈥 he said.

As for the Sunday game Gordon said the team never really got on track following 鈥渢he quick start Warman had...

鈥淭he bounces didn鈥檛 go our way in game one. Hopefully the hockey gods will be with us in Warman.鈥

The Terriers have a week of practice to get ready for the needed comeback.

鈥淲e need to try to find a way in the Warman rink,鈥 he said.

Gordon said the community has certainly been supportive of their efforts. After letting a few people know video messages began rolling in from local politicians, former Yorkton players Clarke and Brett Breitkreuz currently playing in Germany and former National Hockey League player Jarrett Stoll.

Gordon said Stoll texted him after the game to learn how the Pee Wees did. When he was told they lost, Stoll texted the Terriers a message. Stoll told the young players 鈥渢o get off to a good first period, (in Warman),鈥 said Gordon. Stoll added, 鈥渘othing鈥檚 won yet.鈥
