Students learn about health careers

It is a great way for students to learn about careers in the health field. Rural Health Link was held on September 28 at St. Peter's College in Muenster, put on by Saskatoon Health Region, St. Peter's College and the Horizon School Division.

It was a beautiful day to raise the roof. The rafters were installed on the new Englefeld Fire Hall on September 29, thanks to the use of a crane from Mollenbeck Industries Ltd., and some volunteer labour from local firefighters.

When walking down Main Street in Humboldt, people may notice that something is a little different. The local committee Communities in Bloom has started to paint the fire hydrants down Main Street to look like Humboldt Broncos hockey players.

One Humboldt business has been nominated for a Saskatchewan Achievement in Business Excellence (ABEX) award. Century 21 Diamond Realty has been shortlisted for the Marketing award in the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce's ABEx awards.

Broncos lose three on the road

It was an unsuccessful week for the Humboldt Broncos as they hit the road for three games between September 27 and October 1. The team failed to come up with a win in any of their games, though two came within one point.

Cut fluoride out of water supply

Kudos to Tom Loncarich and the Wakaw Town Council for looking into the issue of water fluoridation. I have given serious thought to approaching Humboldt City Council on this issue.

Instead of benefitting research into MS, it will benefit its founder's treatment for it. The fifth Maxine Moore and Friends concert for MS has been set for the afternoon of October 16 at Westminster United Church.
