Creative minds gathered together to show off their talents when the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery (HDMG) hosted a Culture Days event on September 30.
It was part of a Saskatchewan Culture initiative to get people involved in art and culture.
At the event, people had the choice of trying four art media - paper making, wood carving, visual arts and glass.
Linda Whitehead attended the event to try out different mediums to see if she would be interested in doing them as hobbies.
"It's fabulous," said Whitehead. "It's a great learning experience to learn about different hobbies."
Whitehead wasn't the only person to really enjoy the learning experience. Vernie Reifferscheid enjoyed experimenting with painting with painting with a paint wash on tar paper.
"I got to work on something I never have before," said Reifferscheid.
She was interested in trying something different.
"I thought it's something different - I thought I'd come out and see what it is all about," said Reifferscheid.
The event was put on for people of all ages, which was evident with attendance ranging from retired people to elementary students.
Bonnie Kolbeck, an art teacher from Lake Lenore, brought her elementary school to experiment during the day.
"I am really interested in art and thought the kids might enjoy it," said Kolbeck. "I thought coming to culture day would be a good opportunity for the students."
She also thought it would give her ideas for presenters for the school's fine arts day on October 5.
The day was a success, said HDMG curator Jennifer Hoesgen.
"It went fabulous," said Hoesgen. "I was so excited to see so many people wanting to be creative."
After seeing how many people came out to try new things and experience art and culture, she is looking forward to the future.
"I can't wait to do it again," said Hoesgen.
