Another person in northern Manitoba has died from COVID-19 – a woman in her 40s in the Bunibonibee/Oxford House/Manto Sipi/Gods River/Gods Lake district.

On the first day of a partial lockdown, Manitoba reported yet another high day of COVID-19 cases. Active cases of COVID-19 are starting to decline in some hard-hit areas, while some remote areas are seeing a surge.

Northern Manitoba passed another unfortunate milestone on lockdown eve - the region's second death from COVID-19. The province reported the death Nov. 11, saying the victim was a female in her 60s.

There are now more active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba than there are people in Flin Flon. The province announced another 383 net cases of the disease Tuesday, bringing the total number of active cases up to 5,390 province-wide.

Manitoba is going red.

For the first time since the disease surfaced, a northern Manitoba resident has died from COVID-19.

Before Thursday, the most new COVID-19 cases northern Manitoba had seen in one day was 26. That mark was more than doubled Thursday - 60 new cases were reported in the region. The province reported 427 new cases of COVID-19 as of 9:30 a.m. Nov.

New cases of COVID-19 continue to be found throughout Manitoba, including the north - but fewer cases were found Tuesday than in recent days. Manitoba reported 102 net new active cases, with 12 of those cases within the Northern Health Region (NHR).

Northern Manitoba continues to see increases in COVID-19 cases. As of Nov. 2, the region now has 155 people with active cases of the disease.
