Children in the Sturgis area have welcomed the opportunity to play ball once again. The Sturgis minor ball committee established teams of young players in T-ball, rookie, mosquito, peewee and bantam levels.

A power outage which lasted about six hours occurred on Thursday, May 9 due to an accident on a farm field about three kilometres southeast of Canora.

Theft of Lumber The Canora/Sturgis RCMP members are investigating the theft of lumber from the Nehaj Building Center that occurred around April 16. Over $1,100 worth of lumber was stolen from the lot behind the building.
