Despite being outshoot 70-49 in their weekend road trip against the Prince Albert Mintos and Saskatoon Blazers, the Yorkton Harvest came away with two wins. For the most part, puck-stopper Carson Bogdan was the key to the Harvest's success.

The MC Knoll grade 7-8 boys and Yorkton Regional High School grade 9-10 girls held their eighth annual basketball battle of the sexes on Thursday, February 14. The boys bested the girls, taking the match 42-19.

Yorkton is sending 25 bowlers and nine coaches to the youth bowling provincials held in Regina on March 3. In the competition, the bowlers will be competing for gold medals to advance to the national finals held in Langley, B.C., in late May.

Before his outstanding 18-year career with the New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League, Ken Daneyko donned a Yorkton Terriers sweater. He suited up for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Terriers in 1979-80.

The Gallagher Centre hosted the ECDAA District Curling Championship this past weekend on February 8-9. This was the qualifying event for the Regional Championship, which will take place on February 15-16 in Estevan.

The Yorkton Harvest slid into fifth spot in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League standings this past week after grabbing five out of a possible six points. "I'm happy with how we have been playing," says Harvest head coach Jeff Odgers.
