Four young athletes from the Weyburn area will be representing Team Saskatchewan at the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax, February 14 to 27.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of January 17 to 23: *In the early morning hours of January 23, a call was received regarding two males that had been discovered in a vehicle.

Weyburn Red Wing forward, Rodney Cowie, had his best SJHL game Sunday night as he scored four of the Wings' seven goals over the Nipawin Hawks. The grueling three-game/ three-night road swing saw the Weyburn team score 15 goals over three nights.

The deer population is down in the Weyburn area this year compared to past years, but will be seen inside the city as more snow is received. Lindsey Leko, a conservation officer in Weyburn, said/ the number of deer are down for one main reason.

The City of Weyburn experienced a fair amount of growth in 2010 which should continue on into the new year, as the city set a new record for construction activity in 2010, and the population has jumped by 14.
